Concert to take place on the corner of Trade & Tryon in Uptown Charlotte Oct. 12

Charlotte, NC, Sept. 24, 2013 – For the second consecutive year, local musicians will gather in Uptown Charlotte on Oct. 12 for Queen City Hope, a benefit concert designed to raise awareness and support for the less fortunate in the community. This year’s concert will benefit Bright Blessings, a local nonprofit serving homeless children and families in Charlotte.“Every day, we pass by broken and hopeless people in our neighborhoods and communities, and we have the ability within us to reach out with a helping hand,“ said David Arrington, Queen City Hope founder and event organizer. “Through this concert, we hope people will become more aware about the needs of the less fortunate in our city and be moved to do something about it.”The free concert will include performances from local artists Dae-Lee, Travis Greene, KJ Scriven, Serenity, and KC and Julie. In addition to enjoying great music, attendees will be able to make a difference in a homeless child’s life in a tangible way by bringing a birthday gift.

“As with any nonprofit organization, raising awareness is key,” said Amy Cervantes, founder of Bright Blessings. “We are extremely fortunate to have the support of organizations like Queen City Hope who are dedicated to making a lasting impact in our community.” Want to go?

The free concert will take place at 6 p.m. on Oct. 12 in Uptown Charlotte on the corner of Trade and Tryon streets. Guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped gift to bless a homeless child. Suggested items include dolls (multiethnic), toy cars, board games, footballs, nail polish or beauty supplies. Attendees will also be able to participate in special service projects benefiting Bright Blessings and the homeless individuals and families it serves.
