300+ ADDITIONAL HOMELESS CHILDREN WILL RECEIVE BIRTHDAY GIFTS AFTER QUEEN CITY HOPE CONCERT

Hundreds of people gathered recently in Uptown Charlotte for the second annual Queen City Hope benefit concert, bringing birthday gifts and blankets for homeless children in the community. The concert held on Oct. 12 benefited Bright Blessings, a local nonprofit serving homeless children and families in Charlotte.

The free concert included performances from local artists Dae-Lee, KJ Scriven, Serenity, and KC and Julie. In addition to enjoying great music, attendees were able to make a difference in the lives of homeless children.

Attendees brought gifts and toys for homeless children, in addition to helping decorate birthday wrapping paper and assemble birthday party supplies like hats and candy necklaces. At the end of the event, more than 300 toys and gifts were collected, including two 80-gallon bags of fleece blankets; 144 filled party hats; 185 candy necklaces and 200 feet of decorated wrapping party.

“It’s so encouraging to see the Charlotte community come together to support those less fortunate,” said Dae-Lee, founder of Queen City Hope. “We realize the impact this will have in the lives of the children who Bright Blessings will be able to help because of this event, but we recognize there’s still work to do. Our hope is that we will all look for opportunities to help others throughout the year.”
